Terms of Service

The terms on which this service is provided.

A plain-language draft, not reviewed by a lawyer. Have it checked before relying on it.

1. What you get

Access to AccuBooks for your organisation, on whichever plan you are subscribed to, for as long as it is paid for.

2. Your account

You are responsible for who you invite and what rights you give them. Give each person their own login — a shared account destroys the audit trail, which is the part of an accounting system that matters most when something goes wrong.

Tell us straight away if you think someone has got into an account they should not have.

3. Your data is yours

Everything you enter belongs to you. You can export it whenever you like. We use it to run the service for you and for nothing else — it is not sold, mined, or used to train anything.

4. What you must not do

  • Use the service to keep records of anything unlawful.
  • Try to reach another organisation's data, or test the system's security without asking us first.
  • Resell access, or run it as a service for third parties, without a written agreement.

5. Filings and advice

The system prepares GST returns, e-invoices and financial statements from what you enter. It is a tool, not an accountant. What you file, and whether it is right, remains your responsibility and your auditor's. We give no tax, legal or financial advice.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the service running and take nightly backups, but no online service is available every minute. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where we can.

7. Payment

Subscriptions are billed in advance for the period chosen. If a payment fails, we will tell you before anything is restricted. Your records are not deleted the day a subscription lapses — you will always be given a chance to export.

8. Ending it

You can stop at any time. Export your data first; ask us if you need help getting it out. We may suspend an account that is being used for something unlawful, or that puts other customers at risk.

9. Liability

We are liable for what the law says we are liable for and no more. In particular we are not responsible for a penalty, an interest charge or a loss arising from figures you entered, a return you filed, or a decision you took using this system.

10. Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, you will be told inside the application before the change takes effect.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of India.
